Old Fashion Fun
I fondly remember stringing popcorn at Christmas time when I was little and so I bought popcorn and some blunt needles before Christmas planning on doing this with the girls. Well, the holidays got busy and it was never done... until today. Amelia loved it, Anna got bored after about 6 pieces. We made 3 strands to hang outside for the birds.

Upcycle - sweater to skirt
So lately I am into upcycling, I took this lightweight sweater of mine, that I was going to take to goodwill but instead I made it into this cute sweater skirt for Amelia. It was really quick and easy to do, and it didn't cost me a dime!First you just cut off the top under the arm holes. Then sew in the elastic waist band, since the bottom is already finished that's it.
Then I just hand embroidered an "A" and a butterfly at Amelia's request. Lucky for me Anna will also get to wear this after Amelia out grows it.
Next project: hats for Anna & Amelia made out of an old sweater. Sadly,I guess goodwill won't get much from me anytime soon.
Wedding gift
I made this pillow for my brother and his new wife, Helen, as a wedding gift. I hand appliqued the dolphins & heart and hand embroidered their names and the date on the back. The design came from their wedding invitations, which I also designed. Helen is a marine biologist and loves dolphins and studies sea turtles.

ornaments for my gang.

Brian holds a superman figure
Anna holds a doll
And I am holding bud, our dog, he is a Pomeranian
which look like a mini lion.

Christmas gift: stockings
Now that Christmas is over I can show off the projects I have been working on the past two months for holiday gifts.
These are stockings I made from scratch for my brother and his new wife, they are made out of a simple muslin & felt and hand embroidered by me. The inside is lined with a cream colored silky material. I was very please how they turned out since this was my first attempt at a stocking.
I have Helen holding a turtle since she loves and studies them for her job as a marine biologist.
